Obvious Facts People Didn’t Realize Were True Until Much Later in Life

When you’re a kid, the world of sports is simple. When you signed up for city rec league baseball, the other kids playing baseball on your team were also from your city. The students who played on the local high school football team were, well, local.

So it’s confusing to realize that’s not the case as you get into more serious sports. I still remember the shock I felt when I learned that the players I heard about so often on our local NBA team were from Louisiana and Washington. How am I supposed to trust them to represent my state well if they’re not even from here?
