Obvious Facts People Didn’t Realize Were True Until Much Later in Life

If you’re from the US, there’s a good chance that you learned how to count seconds by using the “1 Mississippi 2 Mississippi” method. I’m not sure why; it’s not actually that accurate if you don’t know how fast you’re supposed to say the word “Mississippi.” But I digress.

It never occurred to me how confusing that might be for a person who’s actually from Mississippi. It’s sweet of this kid to have assumed that everyone used their own state, instead of arrogantly assuming that everyone just loves Mississippi more than any other state.
