The Iconic American Brands Are No Longer American

Chevrolet stands as a monumental figure among the ‘Big Three’ automakers, boasting its American heritage. Despite its Detroit assembly lines, a significant share of its components are sourced from abroad, with over half of its parts manufactured overseas.

The Chevy Silverado and Colorado have 46% and 51% of their parts made in the USA, respectively. Although Chevy operates globally, missing only nine countries, its cars found a unique market in South Korea as Daewoo Motors until 2011, with the Corvette being the most American-made model.
